The economic crisis, job losses, tackling climate change and increasing fuel costs in our community require major investment to create a new green economy based upon new green-collar jobs.

The old parties are not even talking the same language. They are committed to last century thinking such as doubling our coal exports. We cannot afford to take the slowly-slowly approach advocated by the Liberal National and Labor Parties.

“Break the habit of a lifetime and vote for a new job-rich green economy”

“Without doubt your speech shone through as the most articulate, relevant and substantial oration and the rest of the candidates appeared amateur to say the least – with the majority of them ‘making it up as they went along’. I don’t think Pauline even realised we had no maternity wing until this evening!”

The Greens will make the big changes that the Beaudesert and Scenic Rim community has consistently called for.

Instead of the billions of dollars poured into coal expansion and 8-lane highways, these funds will be redirected into
a job-rich, green economy developing renewable energy, public transport, a well-supported agricultural sector, and adequate funding for essential local community services such as the Beaudesert Hospital, mental health support and our public schools.
